Smashgard 4mil 100micron safety film upgrades older single glazed or even double glazed glass to form a barrier in the event that it is broken from a trip, fall or intentional breakage.
Complying to British and European standards BS/EN12600 2B2 and Regulation 14 in the workplace, our films installed to your existing glass can assist in providing protection to family members, children and vulnerable adults, staff and the general public in commercial settings should a breakage occur.
Replacing existing window, glass and framework can be expensive and sometimes not feasible. By upgrading the glass with our safety window films applied, fully marked with kitemark stickers and supplied with the necessary documentation can maximum safety quickly, efficiently and with minimal disruption whilst allowing savings made to be utilised in other areas.
For residential settings, our films have been installed to weak internal door glass, windows, vintage glass cabinets, any type of glass that could be subject to breakage should a child or family member trip and fall against it, not a nice thought!
Commercially, our films have been installed to listed buildings with older, dated single glazing, schools, offices, retail outlets and nursing/care homes. In some specialist areas we have found that vulnerable children and adults with disabilities actually try to break the glass intentionally which is frightening.

Regulation 14 in the workplace
As shown in the image, vulnerable glass within the blue shaded area of your property would need a 4mil safety film should the glass be found not to meet modern glazing standards.
4mil 100micron safety film is not only available clear but also tinted, protecting not only the glass from breaking but also reducing heat and glare within a room, damaging UV that causes fading and visual privacy and security.
